The true = intake if a 4-stroke piston engine per revolution is only half of it's stated displacement. In other words, a 5 liter engine would have 2.5 liters of intake per revolution. People double the rotary engine displacement to make it even with the piston engine, because they have to turn twice to = fire all the cylinders.
