There are 2 other water temp sensors on the FD-one for the engine computer and one for the electric fans located on the water pump assy neck as well. The FD is the third gen engine. To measure oil temp I just bought a T fitting for where the oil pressure sensor is and put the oil temp in one leg of the t. Works well. Remember to ground all those sensors redundantly to the block/airframe with a ring ground wire.
