For Ted Stanley:

Thanks for the advice on various topics.  Yes, I have the installation
and operations manual, and yes, I know I could get the fuel pump gasket from
various sources.  The point is that it has taken me quite a long time to get
things corrected after TCM sent me an engine with the wrong fuel pump on it!
Normally I do not do anything on an engine that would require overhaul
manuals -- there are lots of good A&P's around for that.  By the way, Chip
McClellan (TCM) told me there was no gasket sealer used on the fuel pump
gasket, and there does not appear to have been any on the old one; there was
a ring of what looked more like congealed preservation oil around it.

Thanks for the advice on caging the gyro on startup and shutdown.  As
you may know, R.C. Allen is the only mfr of these for GA, and they don't
seem to think they need to supply any paperwork with them.  I was lucky to
find one at all -- several dealers told me the delivery time would be
indeterminate, something probably between 6 months and a year!

Re Teflon for hinges:  Teflon is a very soft material that has poor
abrasion resistance, and also "cold flows."  IMHO it would be a poor choice
for a bearing material used as a sleeve on a hinge pin.
