Do remember that continental engines purchased from any source
have a warranty related to the time of purchase. Lancair when they
sell you an engine will not remind you of the loss of warranty and
difficulties in renewing such even if engine is pickled appropriately.
A few thousand dollars saved in the price may be a costly affair with
an engine out of warranty by the time you fly your project. Continental
gave me cold shoulder when I attempted to extend my warranty. Talk
about documentation regarding winterizing etc. You have to (besides
doing it) prove to them that was done at least every 6 months etc.
