I operate out of San Carlos which is 2500ft. I plan on using a feathering 5 bladed MT prop which can also be ordered full reversing capability. My question is this: Does anyone have any knowledge if such a system is unstable using the beta range under 40 kts when the rudder is ineffective. There is a 1.5 deg engine offset to the right. Without direct nose wheel steering I wonder if the reverse thrust could get a little dicey, particularly on a wet and slick runway, which is the situation where I would like the beta option. I read recently where a Glasair III had turbine installed. Does anyone know who the owner is. I don't believe the GIII has direct steering so this installation would be of interest.
