If you going to be running a turbocharged engine, you will need the
speed-brakes to descend with shock cooling the cylinders. Even with the
IO-550N, you can use them to great benefit also.
They also look real "sexy" screaming by a spam can like a Bonanza!!
I have the Bill Maddox electric brakes on my IV-P, installed 4 years ago.
They are his prototypes, and have never failed me. The original Precise
Flight cable operated brakes were no good at all. Maddox has 9 lighting holes
in each blade, which distributes the turbulence at deployment. They are also
25% more effective that the Precise Flight new electric models.
