I doubt that there is another "built-in" system that weighs this little. Let's do the math that I know all of us Legacy builders have done a million times already, but for the sake of clarity. Okay we start off with 700 lbs useful with a Continental IO 550. The A/C system will take you to 645 lbs (conservative) right away. It you put two (200 lb) people and bags (40 lbs?) for the average cross-country trip, you're left with 205 lbs to work with. That's 34 gallons, which, at 15 gph, will give you a 2 1/2 hour range till dry. That will put you 600 statute miles away with a half hour reserve, on a good day. If you go solo, you can fill the tanks up and you'll be a little bit under gross (they say 66 gallons, but that was before they added the speed brake pockets, which makes it about 64), and then be able to get that 4 hour range. Something to think about if you're gonna fly mostly solo or locally (no bags and no need for full fuel). I know I'm thinking about it especially 'cause the Lycoming IO 540 I'll be using is gonna be 30 lbs lighter than the Continental and still produce 300 hp (thanks to Barrett Performance Aircraft's cold air induction system).
