I cut the tips off and threaded the shafts (1/4-24)and put rod bearings on the tips of the units. they look great (very high quality) and the matched set on each side reduces binding forces. if one fails, the other should still lower the front gear. the only modification is that you need a longer bolt with bushings (or washers) for the rod bearings and another bracket for the additional gas strut. it looks better too.
