When I put the probes in my 360, I had exactly the same problem.

When I called the factory guys for help (sorry I don't remember who), they said
in effect "cut the big gaping hole".   So now I've got a 3" hole all the way
through the stub wing.  Seemed wrong to me at the time, but it does
seem to work just fine and the wings haven't fallen off (at least for the first
100hrs or so :-).
