I have operated my IV from a grass strip and there are no unusual problems.
Add the usual 10 to 15% take off requirement if the grass is dry and more if
wet.  One caution...you cannot run up to full power to try and get a shorter
take off.  At about 60% power the tires start to skid across the grass and
you better be ready to get the power on faster than usual and let her roll.
