You likely already know this but --we took our prop off yesterday so we
have recent experience!  The bolts are very hard to get started and you can
only tighten them about four turns before you go to another bolt.  We had a
airplane mechanic (IA) with us so we had confidence!  The long bolts worked
fine on our constant speed prop but we had to add seven washers to take up
space.  This is less than before we put on the new spinner plate - it has
backer plates around the holes to more than double the aluminum (we had to
put these on).  Our prop has been on for several years and about 300 hours
with no signs of any wear on the long bolts - and there should not be any
wear on these bolts!  The spinner plate had cracked and thats why we were
replacing it.  At the same time we put in the "bumper" in the spinner
(thnaks to all of you who helped me with that!  The prepeg circle fits
perfectly - I can give exact measurements if needed for others now that I
have cut one!
