Can I make the aluminum fuel line from the gascolator to the fuel pump now
and firesleeve it later, or do I have to slide the firesleeving on before I
flare the tube?  What about flexible lines?  Do I make them and then
firesleeve, or does the firesleeve have to be on before the fitting goes on?

Do I have to worry about fireproofing the metal bulkhead fittings for the
fuel lines where it penetrates the firewall?  (I wouldn't think so.)

I assume many of these answers would be obvious if I had a piece of
firesleeving, but I haven't bought that yet.
