IT is a good idea to move the battery forward for forward CG.  We did the
same on our 360 with the short mounts.  a 27 AH battery in a battery box
blasting air into it from the aft baffle area.  If you have the long mounts
you should have even more room. The box is mounted at three points on the
motor mounts.  (Short mounts) and we have just enough clearance inside the
cowling on the right side; thus there is no conflict with the filter.  I
have seen another installation mounting the battery lower left on the
firewall but the oil cooler is physically mounted on the lower right side of
the lower cowling.  That installation did not shield the battery from any
heat.

I have no complaints with the box installation on the motor mounts.  They
are attached with a machined clamp and two adel clamps, all rubber shock
mounted.  the attach points are not in the center of the mount bars but very
close to where they attach at junctions.  Works well.
