Use micro to build up the gap using a fit release method and be sure to use
two bid tapes on each side of the rib to make your capstrip. I would also
advise making templates at about four or five positions on the stab to be
sure the curvature of the top and bottoms are symetrical and that both
halves of the stab are similar. It is possible that the skins have been
warped or twisted during storage. If this is the case then you may need to
heat and reshape them. Call Don Goetz about this situation.
I had to add 1/4 inch of foam on the right side of my vertical stab and
cover with one bid and do all kinds of body work to obtain a symetrical
stab. If I would have done the above prior to closing out the vertical stab
I could have saved about two pounds on the tail and about 150 hours of work.
