Working on the horizontal stabilizer (FB). When I bring the top and bottom
skin together and peek inside from the back, I can see the skin of the bottom
and the ribs of the top don't meet like I expect them to. I really expected
the ribs to require some sanding to match the curve of the bottom skin. But
there must be 1/8" between the ribs and the inside of the lower skin close to
the leading edge. This is with the top and bottom flash clecoed together all
around. And regardless of how much rib I might be willing to sand down
elsewhere, the skin and ribs will never get any closer together around the
leading edge.
So if the flash clecoed together correctly identifies the thickness of the
leading edge (and that might be a bad assumption) ... what's the cure ... or
is this acceptable and I should build up the ribs with flox/micro to meet the
skin?
Thanks again ... jim
