Good morning Curtis, I agree with Bob Smiley that you should do whatever you can in this area now with the plane inverted. I would especially recomend that you try to think of everything that you'll need in the wheel wells such as studs to hold the hydraulic lines, brake lines, and wiring to the upper skin, etc. For it is written, wherever two or more Lancair builders gather, they will be under each others airplanes looking in the wheel wells. I waited untill mine was nearly ready for paint to work on the wheel wells and it required a lot of masking and was a lot harder than if all the "stuff" was out of the wheel well. I used Zolatone on mine and it came out looking pretty good. I would recommend that you hold off on priming the bottom skin until you get a chance to fit the outer wings with the bottom skins on. There is often some difference in the height of the skins that will require filling and body work near the stub/outer wing interface. You'd be sorry you primed if you had to go back and micro over it.
