While it is easy, and sometimes fair, to group innovators along with frauds
IMHO it is not the case with AELLC or Enginair. Both have running prototypes
and Enginair's even has a couple hundred flight hours. Having done one (design
an AC engine installation) myself and having closely examined both and grilled
the designers I can say that both these designs are well on their way to
providing a real alternative to Lyc/Con.

It is unfortunate that all too often innovators make such lousy business
people (and some are outright frauds). I would strongly recommend that before
anyone draw comparisons between these innovators and known frauds that you
spend a little effort to study them.

On the topic of demonstrated reliability, I would be a little hypocritical to
demand thousand of hours of proven performance as I do now fly an
experimental, one of a kind, airplane. What's with that?

I was visiting a fellow builder and he was expressing his faith in cotter pins
and safety wire and distrust in Locktite. Turning to look at his IV under
construction I said "Friend, now is NOT the time to lose faith in adhesives."

Now is not the time to loose faith in innovators. Oh ya, I almost forgot
"Caveat Emptor" to you too.

Brent
