I have decided against the hinge method for the cowling. My goal is to have a method of fastening the cowling that is functional, looks good (not a show plane), and does not inhibit easy cowl removal and engine inspection. The fastener type that I am looking most closely at right now is the 4002 series from Skybolt with the adjustable receptacles. Any experence with these in the group? They are a little pricey but look pretty slick.
