Ron, On my ES I deviated from the stock location. I am 6'2" and raised the panel about an inch and a half for leg clearance. That gets it a little high to see over but I also pushed it back to the firewall as far as it would go and still have clearance for all of the avionics behind it. That also solved the "see over" problem. That made it a little tight to get at anything behind the panel. (pretty tight under normal conditions) Solved that problem and made life real easy by hinging the bottom of the panel so it will swing down to about 30 degrees off horizontal. Was also done in rubber shock mounts. In about 20 minutes I can have that panel lying down and any piece of avionics out or exposed. Pushing that panel forward gives you a lot more room in the cockpit and makes getting in and out a lot easier. > I'm about to install the infinity grips on my ES, and am wondering if anyone > can help with how much of the control stick tube that I need to cut off. Be careful about cutting anything off the side sticks. Make them as long as possible and still have comfort holding it and clearance to the fuselage wall/door frame. Sometimes those loads can get pretty high and a little short stick will only make it worse. As an aside, if you want more room, I took the forward seat flange off the face of the forward seat bulkhead and mounted it to the aft side of the bulkhead. Gained another 2" in the cockpit.
