He told me the driving measurements in deciding their heighth is as follows: a) When the gear doors open and meet each other the curved part must clear the wheels. That part is the bottom of the aft wing fillet (extension fairing) as cut out and attached to the doors. The fillets should move down on the fuselage for this. b) The fillets must be high enough to have the cutout below and inboard of the fillet radius so the door is cut out of the bottom of the fillet, the fillets should be moved up for this. These are opposing requirements. Find the happy mid point. Mark suggested the book measurements using a plumb bob are only the first steps in determining the locations of the fillet caps to the fuselage. In other words, once again the factory has not kept up on revisions since incorporating the long extension fairings. Chap 19, fig 6 measurements are not accurate for this purpose. If done correctly the doors will open and the tires will pass in and out without interference or hinging the gear door lip. I am fortunate that I found this out today and not tomorrow.
