Ian,
    I have had one of those evaporators lying around the house for months,
didn't know it was out of a Mazda! Looks like it would work great, but the
inlet tube is really small and it didn't look as easy to retrofit as a GM.
    As for the vacuum pump, Dave Atkins (I think) is running the stock Mazda
air pump (which is a vane type rotary pump) in the original location and
using the intake for a vacuum pump. Cheap, simple, and probably as
(un!)reliable as an aviation unit.  Mike C.
