Phone number is 407-898-8101. Their P-281 governor is available for $1400. It is smaller and lighter than the McCauley governor. When I saw their governor at Oshkosh I was impressed by how small and light it was compared to the McCauley. It also appeared to be very well made, though I didn't get to see the innards. It is 4.9 inches long compared to the McCauley's 6 inches. The diameter seems to be slightly smaller but I don't have precise dimensions on the McCauley. The weight is 0.93 kg (2.05 pounds). My impresion was that the complete MT unit was lighter than the cutaway McCauley unit that was also on display. I don't know the McCauley weight but I'd guess 3 pounds or a little more. Orin at Lancair says there's no clear advantage to the MT governor, so Lancair has not evaluated it. I can't argue with this, since there appears to be room and weight available for the McCauley, which costs less, too. (Although all those 320 short mount guys that had to cut holes in their firewalls for the prop governor may disagree. I don't know if this smaller governor solves that problem, but I know the long engine mount solves it.) I'm potentially interested only because I'm trying to fit a battery into the space between the governor and the firewall. When I get my engine in a few weeks I'll see if there's enough room. The smaller governor might make the difference, or it might not. The magneto on that side is being replaced by a Light Speed ignition system, which also makes more room. Plus, it's easier for me to buy a pound of weight savings for $200 than to go on a diet. I will send a xerox of the MT governor drawing to Marv for posting in the archives. - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
