I too live in San Antonio and would appreciate greater contact information
for the suppliers mentioned in the previous posting.  Photos indeed would be
appreciated.  I am building a Super ES and would very much like to include
air conditioning if the weight penalty isn't too severe.  Do you have any
type of radiant insulation in your plane?

I own a company that specializes in residential energy efficiency upgrades.
We carry a product that is lightweight and highly efficient.  It would be an
excellent aircraft insulation and I am planning to put it in my Lancair.
The product is an aluminum foil sandwich backed two layers of bubble wrap
type material in between to create the air space required for effective
insulation.  The foil virtually stops 97% of thermal radiation by reflecting
it back to where it came.  Radiant heat is the number one source of high
temperatures in a home / airplane / spaceship etc. This product when applied
to the underside of roof trusses/rafters will make an attic here in south
Texas some 30 to 40 degrees cooler in the summer.

My only question to the list is this.

Will the aluminum foil interfere with antennae / instrument function /
radio, GPS, transponder reception etc.?

Opinions anyone?
