If you can't wait, the prototype to his system is of my design and uses off the shelf gears with the exception of a large 118 tooth which you would have to have cut at a gear shop. See page 243 of the Lancair Network News for the supplier & part numbers and drawing of the geared trim system. The home built geared trim system has worked well in N71JF. Dick's trim system is a nicer looking unit however and would be worth the wait. Assuming you made your own, the parts are about $50 plus the 118 tooth which might cost another $80 or more to have custom cut, plus another 30 hours of work to round up the parts, get the gear cut, and to make a trim wheel.
