How smooth was it?It was so smooth I had to have Tampa approach give me a wakeup call to come in and land:).I bought them from Lancair .They really do there job.No more shakey panel. No more vibrating stick. Not jet smooth, but maybe after I get the prop Balanced............:) On to another subject,I was going to get one of Dick Reichels(spell....)geared trim systems the other day.He told me he had none built and needed a order of 10 too make more up.I was really lathered up to get one .Does anyone have any other suggetions? Tom... You just have to wait for the Dick Reichel's trim sytem !!! I replaced the factory original with one over a year ago. It's the neatest, best trim ever!!! I'd have thought by now that Lance would have purchased the design from Dick and incorporated it into all future kits and made it available as a backfit, at the lowest possible cost. Its as good an improvement as the forward-hinged canopy. It's an easy replacement. You just mount the new trim wheel on phenolic, cut the original from the inside of the center console honeycomb wall ...then, glue the new one in with Hysol. It works perfectly, with excellent control over the entire speed range in this pitch- sensitive airplane. Thanks for the input on the new shock mounts. I was considering replacing mine. I didn't know new and better ones were available. I originally set my spinner 1/8 inch high. Engine sag was eventually 3/16 inch, so I wound up maybe 1/16 inch low. Next April, I'm going for first place at Sun n' Fun. I used DuPont ChromaBase, A lightweight Acryllic-urethane and I'm extremely pleased with the results. It's the only way to go...for those who haven't painted their planes yet. I'll write more on that later, when I have a few minutes Bill Rumburg N403WR (Sonic Boom)
