He tells me he saw the same pr= oblem with an ES. The plane had new paint so the owner asked him to go thro= ugh the wing root rib to access the fuel drain internally. He was able to r= epair the problem that way. =20 My approach was to remove the wing skin around the drain until I could take t= he fitting and drain out through the bottom of the wing. Turns out the Hyso= l used to bond the square brass fitting had not cured and was a rubbery mess= . I cleaned it all out, sanded the area, cleaned with acetone and used a t= oughened epoxy resin with micro and some chopped fiber to bond it back toget= her. I let it sit overnight to be sure it completely cured before I bonded 8= bid over the fitting. Once that cured and I sanded it back flush, I rebui= lt the fairing with a body material called Quick Fair. Still have to check for leaks by turning the wing over and putting some fuel= in, but I'm pretty confident it will not leak. thanks again John Sent from my iPad > On Sep 17, 2014, at 11:07 AM, David Williams wrote:= >=20 > Posted for Jeff; >=20 > John=20 > I have come across this problem once before.
