I can offer no guidance on shielded vs. unshielded b-lead wire. I know that
many people recommend it, but personally I am not convinced that it is
worthwhile.

The "noise" coming from the alternator is just 3-phase ripple, unless the
brushes are worn and arcing, in which case there will be some high
frequency components which could affect your radios.

Personally, I am going with the *unshielded* #10 (30A alternator). If noise
becomes a problem, then I will investigate and modify as necessary.
