Do yourself a favor. cut an access hole in the top of the NLG tunnel near
the firewall to give yourself access to the gas strut upper attach
point.(Be sure to seal it up with a carbon-monoxide-proof seal afterwards.)

You will have to change this item every few years, and IMO, this is the
absolute worst, most frustrating, knuckle-busting, neck straining,
gall-dang, language deteriorating job on the whole aircraft.

I have literally spent a full 8 hour day installing ONE #10 bolt, washer,
and nut thru the strut and attach brackets. With an access hole on top, the
job can be completed in less than one hour.

Trust me....
