Having broken exhau= st pipes more times than I care to remember, I can offer a few thoughts:

1.  Hopefully your pipes are not ceramic coated. =  If they are, it’s a real challenge.  If not, be glad.
=
2.  Finding a welder on the airport has usually been a challenge. =  But taking the pipe off and carrying it somewhere is a gamble that it = gets lined up perfectly.  If your clearances are good then take the exh= aust off and carry to a high-performance exhaust place.
3.  C= all around.  Mobile welders exist.  Otherwise high-performance exh= aust shops usually had the proper welding equipment (rod, gas, etc).

I flew into Boca last night for a couple of days – l= et me know if you need any help.

Intersection, #= 4 exhaust fractured completely, lots unusual noise, vibration and general ba= nging around in the engine compartment.
Brunswick Golden Isles BQ= K was the nearest. So 4ZQ is broken for the moment but safely in a hangar th= ere and I'm driving to West Palm this morning with the broken exhaust bits.<= /div>
What I need at this point is a welder in the West Palm area who c= an work his/her magic and try to make these whole again.
If anyon= e here can offer a suggestion, please give me a call 978-994-4564.
Ideally, I want to replace this exhaust but a weld fix should get me home = in the meantime.
The Lancair part # is EX-3/4-1 and according to = Bill 5ZQ who made the call for me, they don't have this and don't expect to.=
