It's always useful to include the model you are talking about in the subject line.  I assume you are talking about the IV-P.

You definitely won't hear anything as a result of the dump switch itself.  That is only controlling a small valve to enable the vacuum to move the larger  valve.  Possibly if you hook up the vacuum you can hear it move but I've never heard it.   Visual check or rely on your VOM at the valve?

Is there any indication that the manual cabin pressure dump switch is
operating the valve under the rear seat with just power on with the aircraft
on the ground? Can you feel or hear the valve cycle when the manual dump
switch is activated?
