I'm on a short business trip and whiling away my idle time by laying out the
part of the panel beneath the radio stack where the engine control knobs
(throttle, mixture, prop) and other stuff goes.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to
get to a real airplane cockpit to take measurements.

Can anyone recommend a proper spacing between control knobs?  The layout
works well if the knobs are 1.5 inches center-to-center, but that looks kinda
close on my paper template.  Also, what is the diameter of the average
throttle/mixture/prop knob?

Thanks in advance.
