It was so nice out at TIX this AM that I decided it was time to blow some
of the dust off of N10CF. So I attached the cowling and canopy, called the
tower, and taxied to the end of Rwy 18.
After waiting for about 4 aircraft to land (sheesh! there hadn't been
anybody in the pattern when I made my request), the tower gave me the 6000'
runway and off I went.
Rudder control was effective above 20Kts or so - no problem staying right
on the centerline. I accelerated up to 60KIAS then backed off on the power
to hold that. Pulled back on the stick a little to unload the nose gear -
that worked OK. Waggled the ailerons a little and lifted a wing - got a
little squirly when I did that.
Got to give the brakes a good test, too. I was having so much fun I almost
overran the runway! Well, it wasn't *that* close - I had at least 30' left
when I got her stopped <G>.
Very soon now...
