the FAA re-registration site says after a bunch of courtesy notices the designation is removed after 30 days if not re-registered.    Who knows if the database is up-to-date or not?   I wouldn't trust it 100%.   This airplane may have been missed in the re-registration or maybe just got renewed and not updated on the web.   Lancairs have been known to be faster than the FAA especially with a backlog from the shutdown.  I try to assume nothing beyond what I can see in those tragic photos.  Its hard, I know.
