In Colorado in the winter, you will need it close= d.  In the summer, you will need it open.

Of course, you can just open and shut wi= th the seasons, but think you will be happier with the control

Working on our IO-550N engine installation=E2=80= =A6  Already have baffling don= e and flapper door in front of oil cooler.=   We=E2=80=99ve heard mixed reports of whether it is needed or = not.  We need to decide if we = really need to have cockpit control of the door or not.  We=E2=80=99ve heard some people just remove the = door or wire it open or closed depending on the season.

 

Would appreciate hearing abou= t your flight experience with the Legacy with an IO-550N engine and the use= fulness or not of control of the oil cooler door=E2=80=A6=
