With GPSS selected, and autopilot in heading mode, there is always a = smooth transition from one way point to the next on an instrument approach. While flying to an IAF yesterday = and in heading mode, I switched to Hi Track mode about 3 miles from the waypoint, the autopilot flew to the IAF and kept = right on going, failed to make the turn to the next waypoint. Should the correct procedure be to stay in heading mode and = only switch to Hi Track when established inbound on the final approach course? How about the transition from MAP to MAPH?
