I have a bracket I attach to the tail tie down socket (no tie down rings installed).
It can be mounted on either wing. However I bought it to monitor the nose gear. We had a shimmy that turned out to be caused by the wheel pant. Bill added lead sinkers and fiberglass to the front cavity to make the CG the same as the attachment point and solved the shimmy.
My camera is a Drift HD170 I bought from Amazon.com. It can be mounted horizontal or vertical including upside down. I rotate the lens to make the picture record right-side up. In wide angle mode it makes beautiful scenery movies. I use it on every flight.
YMMV
By The Way, in 720 resolution instead of 1080 with the larger capacity battery and 32Gig SD card it will last longer than my bladder. My longest non stop flight has been 5 hours. That is five one hour movies. (OS limitation).  That comes out to be about 3 Gigs per hour.
