Holy moley. A small linear actuator (like the Figarelli Auto 4CH-RC or
similar) could be used for canopy open/closer in the 320 or Legacy series.
No more air springs that loose their stuff after a couple years. Anyone done
this? Downside?

Subject: [LML] drain of battery
Thanks for the suggestions regarding the mystery 18.7 mA battery drain on my
235/320.
Here's an update.
As suggested, I pulled circuit breakers one at a time until the very last
one -- for the landing gear pump relays -- cut the drain to zero.
So next I checked each landing gear pump relay, and neither one was leaking.
!
So next, to check that circuit breaker itself -- mounted on the bulkhead
behind the baggage area! -- i squirmed back past that bulkhead, access cover
removed, and saw a second wire going from it to somewhere... and followed it
to a little black box with a loose wire dangling from it like an antenna !
Then remembered that two years ago when I converted the canopy to a sliding
one with a linear actuator, that was the receiver for the remote... to the
hot side from the battery so I could use the remote as a canopy lock.
Back into the paperwork files, and there was all the stuff. A simple remote
control system from Figarelli Auto. .. 4CH-RC.
So I asked Figarelli tech what the normal battery drain was supposed to be
for the receiver for the relays. They didn't know ... buy the units
elsewhere... and would call to find what the nominal battery drain was.
Call them back next week.
The Odyssey 625 data shows that 18mA will drain the battery down to 30% or
12.04VDC (Minimum needed to crank the engine) ... in just 29 days... like,
when parked outside in Colorado during a month's vacation. Or like at the
airport without the OMAX 6A-1B charger connected.
Question: Is there somewhere else that would have a record of the battery
drain specs for that relay?
