Many years ago I built a "hangar towbar" so I
didn't have to keep taking the collapsible one from the plane every time I
moved a plane in and out of the hangar. It matches the early style tow bar
with the spring loaded pin, is longer than the collapsible ones, and I painted
it bright yellow to minimize the chance of leaving it attached to the
plane. I suggested at the time to Lancair that they should consider
offering a non-collapsible "hanger towbar" but they never did it. But the
idea of making the towbar more visible is something to consider. Perhaps
some bright stripes using colored tape would help.
