If you have a standby alt you might want to point a scat hose at it.  Does the vac pump have a shroud around it or just a hose pointing at it

Dico, in mine that 3rd one goes to a shroud on the vacuum pump to cool it.

Hi All,

I was inspecting my baffling for holes and found 3 scat hoses at the aft section of the engine.   1 of them goes to the gascolator, 1 goes to the vacuum pump and one goes to no-where... just blows air around behind the engine and in front of the firewall.

This 1.5" scat hose is taking away valuable cold air that could otherwise be closed up and help cool my #3 cylinder which run quite hot on climb out.

I'm wondering if there is any reason that I shouldn't remove this scat hose and cover the hole? (since it doesn't appear to do anything).
