There is an electric flap conversion for the IV-P that uses the electric motor system from the Legacy.  I have that installed on N24XE.  In conjunction with a Vertical Power VP-200 actuating system, it allows a single momentary switch to command multiple flap preset conditions (12 degrees, 20 degrees, 30 degrees, full).

By the way, I believe the original recommendation was 10 degrees of flaps for take-off.  With the hydraulic system I use the aileron maximum deflection to set the flaps for take-off.  The maximum down deflection for the aileron is 20 degrees (by the build book.)  So I use somewhat more down deflection than 10 degrees.  I have settled on 16 degrees on the electrical flap system.  I always use flaps for takeoff and recommend it for all the reasons already expressed.

Was the lVP ever offered a flap actuator lever / system that utilized presets similar to what Cessna uses?
