This is consistent with some limited VG experiments Len made on my airplane. In other words, you still have limited to no aileron authority at the stall. Len did do some experiments that resulted better characteristics at the stall but higher stall speed. i was hoping that when we put the VG at 8% of chord we could improve aerolon authority at or near the stall. no such luck.
len had no negative thoughts, as far as i know, about the VGs
from my conversations with the supplier, they had done VG for certified airplanes prior to developing VGs for Lancairs.
