Another, more efficient way, pay Mc-Carr the $13 they charge for that part and just send Lancair $5 to help them out. Lancair will save all the G&A from sourcing, storing, sending and more.
There are some things an airplane company should sell and some things best left to those who have the volume for generic parts. When someone presses the order button on this part, Lancair should just have Mc-Carr drop ship it and save Lancair the trouble of having to mark it up 50% and keep it on the shelf.
I have tried in the past to look for parts from Lancair but, honestly, it is just easier and quicker and cheaper to order online and get stuff within a day or two from other sources. Now, if they embarked on an annual maintenance package that had all the parts to do a regular inspection then maybe that makes sense to get it all at once with one shipment but I can do that with Spruce in about 3 minutes with the re-order feature.

I don’t think they are gouging, just adding a reasonable mark up to their cost on parts...We need Lancair to stay healthy and remain a parts and service source. I try to buy as much as I can from them for that reason.
