Desser says there is a limit of rubber that a new tire = can have added so the retreads actually have a good core and more rubber = which is why I always liked them. Great value except on Legacy RG. There is the "kit" from Lancair to remove those bolts and replace with = countersunk screws to allow more tire-to-fork clearance, maybe 3/16 to = 1/4 inch extra. I did it, countersunk the bottom of the 4-bolt holes = in each fork. I removed the forks to do that. I ended up having to = realign the mains because I lost the original alignment in that process. = Also, there is no simple way to tighten those new screws unless you = remove the tires. That makes the alignment process very tough. Not = worth the effort in hindsight.
