I have the FL-2CA Duel Fuel Level indicator in my Lancair-360 with 24" capacitance probes in the tanks. One of the IMC modules went bad so I replaced both with new units I purchased from EII. When I received the new IMCs, they came with a “divide-by-4 (/4)” for each side of this installation. In my original installation I had no /4 but, per EII tech support, I installed them. Unfortunately, I’m still having calibration issues with these new IMCs.
Using the EII instructions for calibration, after completing CAL2 with 5 gallons of fuel (step 14 in the instructions), I go back to step 9 to advance to CAL3, add more fuel (now 10 gallons in step 10), complete CAL3 and all is well. I then return to step 9 again, advance to CAL4, add another 5 gallons per step 10 (now 15 gallons total), place the Selector Switch in the center per step 11, adjust the fuel level reading to P015 per step 12, place the Selector Switch to the right and tap the Enter Button per step 13. But at this step, this time the Sensor Count reads 0000. So, I go back to step 8 where the instructions are listed to manually program the Sensor Counts. I increase the count to an acceptable level and carry on with the rest of the process. I then return to step 9 again for the final "full fuel" CAL5. I had the same 0000 Sensor Count reading for CAL5 and had to repeat the process to increase the Sensor Count again. When all is said and done, the Sensor Counts are wrong and I get an error L5. The successive Sensor Counts are E000=CAL1=0249, P005=CAL2=1573, P010=CAL3=1800, P=015=CA4=2866 & F020=CAL5=3100. So, my questions:
1. After I’ve recorded the sensor counts for F020, there’s no final step to exit the system so what tells the system I’m finished?
2. How can I check the sensor counts at various levels without disrupting the entire calibration?
3. Can I step through the levels and change the sensor counts again without disrupting the calibration or do I have to drain the tank and start over? This is the fourth time I’ve done this and I really don’t want to drain the tank again.

Danny, their /4 changes the base sensor count before calibration and
depending on the length of your probes, there should be no need to
install this device between the probe and FLC.
I have 2 4' Vision Micro Systems probes in my wings and they
interface seamlessly with my EI MVP-50. Their /4 device is
required in line when the probe is short as in my header tank...16".
