Dan,
My wife and I flown in a number of GA planes including our ES with our dog, 50lb mixed white German Shepard looking dog. She does great. We just throw her in the back seat. She will look out the window and then goto sleep. I have some great pics I can upload here or send to personally. We use 'Mutt Muffs' for her ears. They mostly stay in place and she doesn't try and shake them off.
To load her in and out of the plane we put a carpet on the wing because in the different ways of picking her up that we have tried the legs are always kicking with the claws catching the wing surface. Then we point her inwards and let her jump into the backseat. I have heard of some people putting a harness and clipping them into the seat belt to keep them from coming forward in an abrupt stopping scenario. We never have.
As far as oxygen, don't know. But I know the Spec Ops guys free fall with those dogs not O2.
That's it. Let me know if you want the pics. Or I may upload a couple anyway.
