I talked to Desser at OSH about retreading my FC III’s when the time comes.  They claim the new tread will have the same diameter as a new FC III.  It would save a few bucks but a stuck gear (even after verifying with a gear swing) or a blow out on touchdown would be false economy.  Or, something else to worry about.
