Unless you are building an airplane with no electrical system, decisions like breakers vs. fuses, how many of them, on which buss, located where.... are all part of building the airplane.
I would take it a step further and assert that the time spent in understanding the issues and thoughtfully/insightfully designing the system is far more productive than the time spent on mechanical tasks of putting things together.
