Hello,
Many builders have the similar problems, including me, the idea is to install the aileron counter weights as far forward on the leading edge in order to increase the arm of the counterweights therfore using less lead and keeping the overall the weight to a minimum. The old style counter weight is kind of a rounded triangle in cross setion and and should be installed on top of the leading edge with the bulky part forward. the new style is almost a fattened L shape, the bulkier leg of the arm is mounted to the top of the leading edge with screws.
Important to note the aileron Travel limits are 20 degrees up and 14 degrees down when the wing is mounted to the fuselage.( it is easy to mix up and down).
It is a good idea also to check the limits for the other control surfaces and see that they are up to specs
Rudder: 30 degrees left and 30 degrees right
Elevatror: 26 degrees up and 17 degrees down
