Thanks for the info Mike:

I'll try to clarify a bit.

The laminated longeron is comprised of three spruce pieces, 1/4" wide, 72
inches long.  The manual says to trim the longeron to 61 inches on the inner
two plies of the lamination, and to allow the third laminate to extend along
the inner fuselage the full 72 inches.  At approximately FS61, the aft
cannopy support should meet the longerons, this transition point is where
the question comes from, it is clear in the directions that from FS 0 to FS
18 is a two bid layup that holds the longeron to the forwared deck
attachment joggle.  From FS 18 to FS 61 the 2 bid layup wraps up and around
the longeron to the outer fuselage.

The 5400 dollar question is: how do you finish the layup from FS61 to FS72
where the tip of the innermost laminate piece extends? Did other builders
trim the longeron to FS61?
