Douglas, I'd be very grateful too if you could make available your Word version.
Many thanks in advance for your efforts!
It may well turn out that the PDF versions that Lancair have said they will make available (and indeed the Legacy ones are there just as Doug said they would be) can be converted with all the formatting, images, tables etc accurately representing the originals…and we can remove the text "Not for use as aircraft required document" thats run right across each page diagonally, but who knows…….

John

I think all the Legacy builders could benefit from a copy of your editable POH. I have the bound version but I hesitate marking up and messing it up. If you can FTP your POH to a site I'd like to download it. Thanks, Stan Fields Legacy #201 sdfields68@att.net You could FTP the file(s) up to Lorn Olsen's server then multiple people could download it (including me). FTP is not that complicated . . . Contact me or Lorn for info ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Friday, November 23, 2012 8:19 PM Subject: RE: [LML] Re: Lancair POH's Online Several years ago, Dan Ballin and I converted the Legacy POH into an electronic version. (Dan did most of the work) I have the Legacy POH in both Word and PDF format. The Word format version suffers from some formatting problems but needs to be edited anyway for your own plane. I also have a copy which I edited for my plane. You can have that as well - although it is specific to my plane. Unfortunately, the size of the files is greater than my email will transmit so: 1) If you send me a thumb drive I can copy it to the drive and send it back (please send postage paid return envelope) or 2) We could try to work out some way to send it electronically (Warning: do not confuse my IT skills with Bill Gates’) Doug Brunner Legacy N241DB legacyflyer@gmail.com Unless the PDF files you are intending to post on the website are 100% editable, then, given that it would be rare for any Lancair to be identical in every respect, doesn't it make sense for the manuals to be available in something like Word. Each owner can then complete / modify the Lancair supplied manuals such that they are a correct and accurate representation of each aircraft – that after all would be consistent with the last words in the manual Lancair issued to me which are "HAPPY FLYING & KEEP IT SAFE". Understanding that you may wish to place a disclaimer / warning on the site that Lancair bears no liability for any changes made to documents downloaded, I'm owners would appreciate it if you could make the dox available in Word form – thanks. John

In response to the question regarding obtaining a Legacy POH, we will soon have them all on the Lancair Website under the Documents and Manuals button, filed under the relevant aircraft type in the left side sub-menu. These .pdf manuals will be watermarked to identify them as “for information purposes only” and not for use as a Required Document in your aircraft. Official, current revision, bound manual hard copies are available from KCI here at Lancair for $50.00. The Legacy RG will be the first to be available on the site and should be up in a day or so.
